On a typical 10x15 C&P, we recommend 8 to 10 feet of the .010 tape and 4 to 6 feet of the .005 tape. Clean bedrails, stagger ends of the tape when applying for a smooth transition for the trucks, and be aware both sides of the press may have worn to different heights, so use a base and plate with inked rollers to see how inking progresses. Not all base and plate combinations are at type high, so the use of a roller setting gauge is an indicator only as to proper position of rollers. Keep solvent off the applied tape as solvents will work at the adhesive and may cause premature failure of the tape.
