Thompson Cabinet Company, Ludington, Michigan
We bought the last of Ed Thompson's letterpress cabinet items back about 2010 when he announced that he was going to stop work and shift his attention to the family run marina located on the same property. Hamilton is out of business and the once large factory was nothing but a huge vacant lot. So we were surprised to receive a call in October of 2021 from Ed that the plant was still there, all the machinery intact, patterns still hanging from the hooks, but that change was coming, and soon. If I wanted to see any of it saved, I had to act fast. But I doubt that anyone will be able to save much of anything.
The Thompson plant was amazing, retaining all of its equipment and patterns which is soon to be bull dozed.
